What to Expect

If you come to Messiah as a visitor or as someone who is looking for a Church Home, here’s what you can expect.

  • First and foremost you can expect Biblical preaching and teaching that is Christ Centered and Cross Focused
    • You will hear how each one of us is a sinner in need of a Savior
    • You will hear how God has sent His Son, Jesus Christ to be this very Savior
  • This means that we are a congregation filled with sinners and hurting people.  We gather together for this very reason, because here Jesus forgives and heals us.
  • We like kids, even fussy crying babies and toddlers and don’t want to kick them out of Church
    • We believe faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17), and this applies to even young children.  You’d be amazed what they begin to pick up.
    • In our building, Pastor’s office doubles as a cry room, so if you have the need to slip out and settle your little one down, feel free to do so.
  • Our members dress in a wide range of clothes.
    • We do encourage modest and reverent attire, but would rather you be here where our Lord comes to clothe you than worry about not wearing the right thing.
  • Our worship is liturgical and our music reflects the whole history of Christian hymnody.  For the most part our accompaniment is a piano as we do not have an organ.
  • Our pastor wants to get to know you, but he can be forgetful with names.  Rest assured though, he’s praying for you from the time he meets you.
  • We are a multi-generational congregation.  We don’t target one specific age group because the Gospel spans all generations.  We have much to learn from both young and old.
